Privacy Policy

How StudentToolkit handles data: no accounts, calculators run in your browser, plus details on analytics and any advertising cookies in use here.

This policy explains what happens to your data when you use StudentToolkit. The short version: there are no accounts, the calculators run entirely in your browser, and any advertising on this site will follow the rules set out below.

No accounts, no server storage

StudentToolkit does not ask you to sign up or log in. The numbers you type into a calculator (credits, grades, CGPA, percentage) are processed by your own browser using JavaScript. Nothing is sent to a server, and nothing is stored once you close or refresh the page.

Analytics

This site uses three analytics tools to see how many people visit and which pages are read.

Cloudflare Web Analytics does not use cookies and does not track individual visitors across sites. It reports aggregate figures only, such as total page views, and cannot identify you personally.

Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-X1X5KFKWH7) records page views, an approximate location worked out from your IP address, and the type of device and browser you are using. IP anonymisation is switched on, so the full address is not stored against your visit. Google Analytics sets first-party cookies on this site, including one named _ga, to tell one visit from another. Cookies are kept for the retention period set in the Google Analytics account. You can opt out of Google Analytics across all websites using the opt-out browser add-on at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout, or by blocking cookies in your browser settings.

Microsoft Clarity (project ykd5e88dd0) records session replays and heatmaps showing how visitors move around and use each page. Anything typed into a calculator input box is masked before it reaches Clarity, so no grades, credits or other personal details are recorded. Clarity sets cookies named _clck and _clsk to link actions within a visit. Microsoft’s privacy statement is at https://privacy.microsoft.com/privacystatement. You can limit Clarity through your browser’s cookie controls. Microsoft’s own documentation states that Clarity does not currently respond to the browser’s Do Not Track setting, so turning DNT on will not stop a session from being recorded.

Advertising

StudentToolkit may show adverts through Google AdSense. If AdSense is active on a page you visit, Google and its advertising partners may use cookies, including the DoubleClick cookie, to serve adverts based on your visits to this and other websites. This is standard behaviour for AdSense and is not specific to StudentToolkit.

You can opt out of personalised advertising from Google by visiting Google’s Ads Settings at https://www.google.com/settings/ads. Google’s partner sites and the technologies they use are described at https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

Third-party vendors, including Google, may also place and read cookies on your browser, or use web beacons, to collect information for the purpose of measuring and improving adverts on this site. You can control cookies generally through your browser settings, including blocking or deleting them, though this may affect how some parts of the site display adverts.

Visitors in the EEA, UK and Switzerland

StudentToolkit is built for students in India. If adverts are ever shown to a visitor in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, a consent message will appear before any personalised advert or non-essential cookie is set for that visitor, using Google’s own consent management platform. Once that consent tool is live, analytics on this site will run for visitors in those regions only after consent has been given.

What this site does not do

StudentToolkit does not sell your data, because it does not collect any personal data to sell. It does not build a profile of you, does not require any personal details to use its calculators, and does not share information with third parties beyond the advertising and analytics services named above.

Children

This site is aimed at university students and does not knowingly collect data from children.
